The Autumn weather has been amazing so far. Brown leaves crunch underfoot, migrating birds can be seen in the skies if you look up. Dawn is getting later and later, but sunrise is pretty spectacular if you do get a shot of the big yellow please share it with my by email or Instagram. Below is an image at The Forty Foot, Dublin at sunrise around 8am yesterday, Sunday morning. We swam to the buoys and turned to face the amazing sunrise. The sun licking the skin on my face as I swam towards it. The joy of swimming at dawn listening to the call of the seals and hoping they stay exactly where they are! Post swim, shower and breakfast I made stewed apple with the bounty of my small garden I was reminded of a poem. It reminded me of the wonder of Autumn and to not take this season for granted.
To Autumn
Season of mists and mellow fruitfulness,
John Keats, To Autumn
Close bosom-friend of the maturing sun;
Conspiring with him how to load and bless

Last month at our Airfield Harvest Retreat, the temperature was a balmy 20 degrees. We gathered to celebrate Harvest in all her beauty. To flow amongst the trees, the peace and calm of Airfield. I can’t wait to be back there in Spring.
As we move into darker times in Autumn there is an invitation to dip into deeper practices. The practice of Svādhyāya, self study is a practice that is much aligned to this time of year. For those who joined me for the Foundations of Yoga course you will be familiar with this term. Click here to see the course content. This practice is a way of studying you in all your glory. In November I will be hosting a Winter Nourish event. This event will be for you to practice yoga in a deep and sensuous way, to move through music. Please contact me if you are interested in coming along. Places are limited to 15 so please let me know today if you wish to come along as this will sell out.
All the practices we engage in during the Autumn/ Winter seasons allow you to nurture your relationship to yourself. Keep practicing yoga, take regular walks in the rich Autumn sunshine, do what makes you happy. Embrace the light while making room for the dark.
